Jackson, Michael (1958 - ) USA / Music star / VD
Jackson

The king of pop music appreciates Switzerland's tranquility and chose this country to record his last album. Born in 1958 in Gary, Indiana (USA), Michael Jackson was the seventh child in a family of nine. At the age of 5, he and his four older brothers formed the group The Jackson Five, produced by their father.

Michael demonstrated his musical talent very early on and the group recorded five hit singles between 1969 and 1971, notably I want you back and ABC. That same year, Michael Jackson signed his first solo album, Got to be There, which climbed to number four on the American charts. The singer's career was well underway and international acclaim was soon to follow with Thriller, in 1982, which sold over 40 million copies.

The worldwide success of Bad in 1987 and Dangerous in 1991 crowned Michael Jackson The King of Pop. In 1994, he married Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis. The following year he made the double album HIStory.

After a divorce and remarriage, Michael Jackson recorded Blood on the Dance Floor in Montreux in 1999. The tranquil area led the singer to come work in the city where Freddie Mercury and the group Queen had also recorded albums. Michael Jackson had his heart set on the Manoir de Ban, the former residence of Charlie Chaplin, however the Chaplin family refused to sell the property.
